Third Parties in A Relationship

Edited Post

This ZR/Alvin/Yuki scandal is all over the blogsphere. It appears that many people are condemning Zoe Raymond for coming in between a relationship that was heading for marriage.

Coming from a marriage wrecked by a third party, here are my own two cents.

I think all parties at fault. 6 months after I left my ex, I realised that there has been warning signs all along and I just did not pay much notice to it. Perhaps my being married made me think that things will work out and I shouldn't pay too much attention to it.

My ex was too easily tempted. He cheated twice in less than 6 months. It only went to show how vulnerable he was to temptation. Part of me would like to think that all men are the same but I do know of men who will reject all temptation.

The third party - yes, I hated her. I have so much hatred for her that I probably can still kick her in the face if I see her now but as a woman, I know what its like when you meet someone you think is the love of your life. This woman claimed that she had no idea he was married but I guess all third party will claim the same.

I blame mostly on my own marriage being not strong enough. Now, coming two years to having left him, I feel good. I don't need anyone else but Larissa in my life and that is good enough.

I hope that Yuki will find the strength in her to move on. She will realise in future that his cheating on her is good and she will find a better man in future.

On a side note, I really don't think Zoe Raymond is remotely pretty...Just A LOT of make up...and the fact that she promotes herself as a model? I'm sorry but she's too short to be a model in my eyes. To me, a real model should at least be 1.73m but she can barely hit the 1.65m mark.

Same Old Brand New Me

I've started a new job at a new company for about a month now. What I really love about the job is that the building the office is situated in has got a gym which our company signed membership for. Every staff member can go to the gym, all we need to do is go to our HR and get the access card.

I'm trying to make a change to my life, a healthier life. I workout at least three days a week and at least an hour each time. Seeing that its just right above my office, it really is pretty convenient.

I always start with 20 mins on the treadmill and then weights. I am trying to build my stamina up and also to lose weight. I believe I can see a change in a month.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Changes

This is so back dated. It was in my draft folder at least for a month.

Currently taking a break and just slack at home while waiting for my new job to start on 30th Oct.

Been taking time to just sleep, eat and just slack. hahaah

Larissa's night potty training has been going really well and she is now completely free of diapers both in the day and in the night. It wasn't easy initially for the night potty training. I'd make her pee before she goes to bed at about 9pm and I'd carry a sleepy baby to the potty at about midnight to make hter pee before heading to bed myself. Lucky for me, Larissa really hated sleeping on a wet bed. There has been many accidents where she'd wet the bed, sometimes twice in the night. I didn't get a bed protector intitially but it got so bad that I eventually gave in and bought a nice bed protector for her. She now has minor leaks whereby she leaks on her panties, she will wake up and tell me she leaked so that she can go use the potty. I have to say that her progress is really fast considering that we started night training only recently.

Oh, I have also weaned her off her pacifier 3 days ago. Being the mean mommy that I am, I took a pair of scissors, sat down swith Larissa and together we cut her pacifier up and I made her throw it away herself. She seem to have difficulty understanding that she had cut her pacifier up and was on the verge of crying at the sight of her cut up pacifier. She kept trying to reattach it and refused to throw it away. She was angry with the scissors and kept saying she wants to throw the scissors away. I had to explain to her that her birthday is only a month away and she is a big girl. She accepted it after a while and if you ask her where is her pacifier, she will tell you that she threw it away! I also changed her milk powder to Dumex, which is a cheaper brand than NAN that she took previously. I intend to change it to the normal Nespray. I don't think all the DHA stuff really matters at her age.

I don't know how to end this. Just wait for my next post. lol

Larissa at 33 months

Larissa turned 33 month about 8 days ago. It certainly feels like it was only yesterday that I held that tiny little being in my hands and now she is jumping and running about.

She is now speaking in sentences and saying things that made me wanna slap myself in the head. When she sees my brother's girlfriend wearing her heels, she's say, "you can walk meh?"

She'd also start questioning me, asking me where did I go or what did I do. She has also started imitating her teacher, giving me instructions on where to sit or what to do. Such a control freak. Sighs...its so satisfying being a mother and watching her grow up.

Diapers....Be Gone!

Ever since Larissa started childcare, they have been toilet training her. Due to long working hours and a very lazy maid, it was never successful at home.

Recently, I decided to reinforce the no diaper training at home and I let her go without diapers. It was tough initially and she kept peeing on the floor but I am seeing a lot more results now.

I keep telling her that she is a big girl now and should inform us when she wants to pee.

Only problem is that she drinks a hell lot of water and can go pee 6 times in an hour. T.T

I also tried to let her go diaper free at night and there has been accidents but last night, she woke up screaming that she needs to pee. Funny thing is that I've actually put on diapers for her as I know that she's had a long day and probably will not be able to wake up and go pee.

I will keep trying till we succeed!

My Baby the Gold Digger

Was called up by Larissa's childcare centre on Tuesday. She had nose bleed twice and vomited some blood clots that freaked the teachers out and they asked that we take her home and observe her.

After contemplating for a while, I decided to bring her to the hospital as she had complained of tummy aches for the past 2 weeks or so.

At the hospital, it was a long 3 hour wait before we got to see the doctor.

Getting her parameters taken during registration.
Thanks to the vending machines that sold fruits, she had fun gobbling up cup after cup of fruits.

We spent 3 long hours only to be told that its due to her digging of nose that caused the nose bleed. T.T
Nothing can be done until she stops digging....

Anyway, she woke up on Sunday morning with a nose bleed again. Sighs...I wonder when will she stop digging....

Larissa's Playtime

I try to make sure that playtime involves games that helps Larissa develop her fine motor skills or make her think. Here's a video of her playing with blocks that require her to problem solve. I also play Jenga with her, which I think is good for her fine motor skills, not to mention the laughter and shrieks from her when the blocks fall. I am rather uncomfortable with letting her play with video games, iPad and the likes. Only time when I let her play or watch Barney on my iPhone is when I'm done feeding her food and need a bit of time to quickly gobble up my food.

Larissa's Portfolio

The other day, my helper passed me some stuff to sign for Larissa's childcare and I was pleasantly surprised to find this portfolio that was something like a report book. Here's sharing Larissa's progress in childcare.

By the way, Larissa is going to Young Talents Childcare situated at Toa Payoh. I really like the childcare centre and I am really impressed that they have yet to report a single case of HFMD. Only problem is that its air-conditioned so Larissa tends to fall sick quite often. The childcare's management will be taken over by Montessori soon and I am keeping my fingers crossed that the fees will not increase too dramatically.

Singtel Midnight Dash

Exchanged my Singtel Rewards points for a chance to join in the dash and I was lucky enough to get it! It means I won $500 worth of groceries from NTUC and all I had to do was to grab them within 5 minutes.

Attended the briefing for all the 100 winners on 19th June. Each winner is allowed to bring a friend to make a team and that makes 200 people grabbing groceries!
I am team A2 and that makes me one of the first group of people to grab the groceries.

Our emcee is the very cute Randall Tan!

We were briefed on where we can grab items from and what are the items we cannot take.

The Actual Day!
On the actual day! My friend and I went an hour early to recee and also to calculate what will make up $500. Did I mention that The team that grabs the closest to $500 worth of groceries stand to win an extra $3000 worth of NTUC vouchers?

The handsome Randall Tan again.

Here's what we managed to grab and it came up to exactly $500! We managed to grab all the items that we wanted to!

After the grabbing, it's waiting for the rest of the teams to finish and the results to see who got the closest to $500. Out of the 100 teams, 26 teams managed to get exactly $500 worth of groceries, the total price of $9000 worth of vouchers was split among the 26 teams and we each got $350 worth vouchers!

Aftermath....

The following day, I went to NTUC Extra at Ang Mo Kio Hub and bought stroller using the vouchers I'd won! I've been eyeing this particular stroller for 6 months and it just so happened that my mom left behind Larissa's stroller at the boot of a taxi just 2 weeks back.

So lucky right?

可惜不是你

A song made popular by Fish Leong. This is the version by the songwriter himself which I like better. I can feel the pain when listening to him sing this song.

God Provides

Larissa has been falling sick pretty frequently after she started going to childcare and its almost monthly that I had to bring her to the doctor. There was one time she fell sick due to Bronchitis and had to see the pediatrician almost weekly. That month alone, I spent close to 700 bucks on the doctor alone and because of that, I drew money from my credit cards and am now living in the red.

This month, I realised that all my necessities seem to be running out. Larissa\'s milk powders, diapers, my make up remover, facial cleanser and even my sanitary pads. The worst thing was that I had close to zero dollars in my accounts and am in debt to my credit cards. Larissa\'s daddy has also been defaulting on her maintenance...

Just when I was thinking of how to solve these problems, I won $500 worth of groceries from Singtel!

I have been using Singtel for close to 10 years and am rewarded points which I can use to get a rebate off my bills once in a while. This month, Singtel held a promotion which we had to use our reward points to change for a chance to win this $500 and I used my points to change for it in the hope that I will get a chance at it and yes, I won it!

We were given 5 mins to grab our groceries and as long as it is below $500, its all ours for free. Best of all, there was another prize of $9000

《世界上最远的距离》 泰戈尔

I find this poem very poignant...so distressingly beautiful...

My Working Life

A single mother's life really is a crazy, mad and busy life.

A typical day in my life starts at 7am. I have to get ready and out of the door by 7.45am. Larissa is normally still in bed when I get up so I'd give her a kiss before I head out for work and then its off to buying breakfast for my colleagues. The daily commute to work takes about 45mins.

The very minute I step into the office, its non-stop answering of phone calls, replying to enquiries on the phone and by email and taking of orders. The phones can ring on and on the whole day with no time to even put down the phone. How my colleagues can key in orders or reply to emails while on the line is a wonder to me. It's something that I can never do! I don't normally take lunch breaks. I mean I do eat but I lunch in the office and still answer phone calls. Anyway, this goes on until 6.30pm when we are supposedly off work but the work doesn't end there. This is the time where I print my food labels, you know, the ones you always requests for so that you know what you are eating. I also use the time to submit invoices, keep track of outstanding payments and end emails to remind customers of it, charge customers' buffets to their credit cards, key orders and do filing. It'd be 9pm by the time I'm done, 45mins commute by public transport later and tadah, I am home!

Larissa is usually asleep when I get home. I'd take a shower, read the papers to catch up on whats going on, maybe watch a bit of tv or do some personal grooming and before I know it, its already 2am!

Yeah, I know it all seems cazy and I do get scolding from my family members due to my long working hours. I have to say, its all my fault. I am not the most meticulous person and I make mistakes during work like when keying in order and having to make amendments do take up a bit of time.

Anyway, due to some changes to the company policies, I have tendered my resignation. Right now, I intend to find a job that allows me time to take up a private diploma and more time with Larissa. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I find something good. I think I am crazy for tendering without even having a new job but well, its a risk I am gonna take. Keep your fingers crossed for me or click on the Nuffnang ads to help me! LOL!

Larissa Turns Two!

This is a very back dated post that was kept in my draft for for the longest time. Larissa turned 2 in November last year and I managed to book an ice cream place near my home to celebrate her birthday. The initial plan was to just cater a buffet at my mom's place for her birthday but just 3 weeks before her birthday, Creamier, opened its doors and I was so impressed by their handmade ice cream that I decided to book the place for Larissa's birthday. It cost me a bomb but it was Larissa's first birthday without her daddy and this is perhaps my way of making up to her. It was a ice cream and waffles party and everyone got free flow ice cream! Did I mention that Creamier also served delicious Belgian waffles? Anyway, here's some photos of the birthday party. The photos are courtesy of Charles, a great friend and freelance photographer. Do email me if you'd like to engage him.
